South Transcona Community Centre is looking for responsible youth, 15-29 years of age, to keep our community centre grounds clean and to help with a number of outdoor improvement projects for the 2020 summer season. We are looking for self starters who are able to work alone and can accomplish a variety of outdoor tasks, working hours to suit their schedule. All positions require the regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by STCC for equipment safety as well as additional PPE and cleaning procedures for COVID-19 protection. Additional training for these positions will be provided by STCC.
Grounds Maintenance position includes (but not limited to): cutting the grass using a commercial lawn tractor and edge trimming, litter/garbage pickup, assisting with minor repairs and upgrades to outdoor facilities.
Summer Projects position includes (but not limited to): sanding and painting the rink boards, repairs and upgrades to outdoor amenities, assisting with the addition of new outdoor sports amenities, as well as additional projects as assigned.
All applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, a child abuse registry and criminal record check. These checks are provided by STCC at no cost to the applicant, following a successful interview. These positions are from May to September 2020. Our community centre has limited transit service, so reliable transportation is necessary. Experience with yard work, painting, operating a riding lawn tractor and doing minor repairs is an asset. Those interested can email their preferred position and resume to Joel Andrade - email@example.com . We thank all applicants for their interest!
Our Community Centre remains closed to the public during our interior renovations. Our focus for this summer is to improve, repair or replace our aging outdoor infrastructure to better benefit the community! Job Type: Casual/Temporary
